Mexico City, Roma to the ruins
Stay in Roma Norte or Condesa. The parks do half the hosting for you. This plan leaves room for a late dinner and still gets you to the pyramids before the tour buses.
Day 1
Parks and a gentle first dinner
Walk Parque México and the Roma streets. Coffee, a bookstore, no museum yet. Dinner close to the hotel. The altitude is not a personality test. Drink water and go to bed.
Day 2
Centro, then one museum
Zócalo, the cathedral, and the Palacio de Bellas Artes from the outside at least. Then choose: Anthropology if you want the long hall, or Soumaya / Jumex if you want a shorter, stranger afternoon. Evening back in Roma. Mezcal is optional; a long table is not.
Day 3
Teotihuacan at opening
Leave the city early. Climb what you are allowed to climb, walk the Avenue of the Dead, and be gone before the middle of the day. Afternoon is a nap and a neighborhood you have not seen — Coyoacán if you have the legs, or just the same park again.
Day 4
Market morning, fly late if you can
Medellín or a smaller market, fruit, and the salsa you will fail to recreate. If your flight is at night, add a last long lunch. Send the photo of the table, not the airport.
